December 12, 1969 - November 26, 2023
Jason C. Johnson, 53, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing with family by his side. He was born December 12, 1969 to James and Gail (Johnson) Nelson in Minneapolis, MN. Jason was employed in various places throughout his career, his passion was cooking, he worked for the likes of Mike's Pub, the Curling Club, and Mesaba Country Club to name a few. He recently worked for Iron Range Towing in sales. Jason was a member of the Algonquin Club in Hibbing, the Mesaba Country Club, and was the current FireFighter Civil Service Commissioner and past city council candidate. He also was a referee for youth sports in the past.Jason is survived by his four siblings, Larry Johnson, Largo, FL, D.J. (Denise) Johnson, Gig Harbor, WA, Thomas (Jan) Johnson, Plymouth, MN, and Jean (Bob) Flynn, Side Lake, MN, his fur baby, Basil McCrae, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many, many, friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Gail Nelson, parents, Lawrence and Fay Johnson, and his cousin, Travis Flynn.
There will be a celebration of Jason's life from 1-5 pm, Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Hibbing Curling Club. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
